Move-IQ is a movement-quality score — not a body composition number, not a fitness test. It measures something the standard scores can't: how well your joints actually move, and what their movement tells you.
BMI takes your height and weight, divides them, and tells you how you compare to an entire population. It says nothing about how you move. Two people with identical BMIs can have completely different joint mechanics, mobility, and injury risk — and BMI cannot tell them apart.
VO2max measures how much oxygen your body uses during hard exercise. It requires a lab, a mask, and trained staff to run it. It captures a single dimension — aerobic capacity — and ignores everything else: joint range, symmetry, compensation, control. It tells you how fit your cardiovascular system is, not how your body actually moves.
BMI describes your body. VO2max describes your engine. Move-IQ describes how your body moves through space — joint by joint, side by side.
A population-level ratio of weight to height, used since the 1830s.
Maximum oxygen uptake, measured under exercise stress, usually in a lab.
A bilateral, joint-by-joint score of how your body actually moves — 0 to 100 per joint, left and right.
The assessment takes under 20 minutes. No equipment. No lab. Just you and your movement.
